Hooray for Fridays. So they are no longer the end of the working week for me but the time when everybody else has finished work so I have someone to talk to for 2 days. Hooray!
In the meantime I’ve been doing a spot of knitting and crochet for the baby.
The first is a teddy bear, the pattern for which was in a book we received as a wedding gift. You can find Baby and Toddler Knits Made Easy here on Amazon. It has over 50 projects for garments and decorations, blankets and toys for boys and girls. Next on my list is a T-Rex toy and an elephant cushion.
It’s supposed to be super chilly this year so I made baby some things to keep him or her toasty warm. The baby hoody pattern came from Craftseller Magazine a few months ago. I added some multi coloured buttons as we don’t know whether it’s a little bundle of pink or blue we are having. Keeping on the multi coloured theme I then made a super simple crochet baby blanket from some odd balls of yarn I had in my stash, I made a chain of approximately 50 stitches using a 4.5mm hook and DK yarn. It’s just two rows of each colour in DC stitches until the blanket is long enough to make a square shape. You can try this by folding it in half on the diagonal (corner to opposite corner), when the sides match up, the piece is square. Then I added a DC border, remember to do 2 DC in each corner or the piece will not lay flat.
I hope you like them. I’m really looking forward to wrapping the little one up all snug and warm in the blanket.
