I have totally fallen head over heels for ….

GRANNY SQUARE LOVE!!

What a beautiful, colourful book of gorgeousness from Sarah London. And it was ready and waiting for me under the tree this Christmas.

Granny Square Love

I love making granny squares, but there are only so many blankets you can make and places you can keep hiding them before the other half gets suspicious and starts strongly hinting that maybe you ought to see if you can get some help. This book is most definitly the answer to your addiction. Gone are the days where granny square just means lap blanket (or in my case, rather enormous bed throw), say hello to cushions and embellishments and teacosies and OH! so much more.

There are lovely pictures all the way through and stunning use of colour that really has me itching to get to my local yarn shop and part with some cash. Must … Remain … Focused …

I really like the colour commentary she has running through the book, explaining the colour combos that she has used along with some advice for alternative colourings.

If you have never crocheted before there are instructions at the beginning, all with pictures, for your basic stitches and a tutorial on how to make a granny square. This is no excuse not to get hooking!

Now, if you will excuse me, I have an ottoman slipcover and a stool cover to make … for an ottoman and a stool that we don’t have … yet.
